Renovation project management in Esher

Project management in Esher means taking the build off your hands. We appoint suitable, trusted contractors, agree the programme and budget, and visit site regularly to keep the work to the design. We handle procurement, deal with builders and suppliers on your behalf, and see the job through snagging, handover and final styling. On a large house with several trades on site at once, having one person accountable for the whole job makes a real difference to cost, time and stress. We can manage a scheme we have designed, or one you already have drawings for. Before work starts we agree a clear scope, a realistic programme and a budget with a contingency, so you know where you stand. During the build you get regular updates after site visits, and decisions are brought to you in good time rather than at the last minute.

Homes in Esher

Big detached houses bring their own logistics: long programmes, several trades at once, and families often living in part of the house while the rest is stripped out. Private roads and estates can add rules on working hours, deliveries and parking. We plan the sequence of work around all of this, so the house stays liveable where it needs to and the neighbours stay on side. Long lead times on kitchens, glazing and stone are common on larger houses, so we set ordering deadlines at the start of the programme.

Local knowledge

Planning and local notes

Esher sits in Elmbridge, and the Esher conservation area covers the historic centre around the High Street. Outside it, the bigger question is often private: many of Esher's estates, including the Clare Hill and Claremont Park area, carry covenants or estate rules on extensions, boundaries and rebuilding. We check the deeds and any estate requirements alongside the planning position before drawing anything, so the design you fall for is one you can actually build.

FAQs

Questions we're asked

Can we stay in the house during the renovation?

Often, yes, if the work is phased. We plan which areas are closed off and when, so you keep a working kitchen or bathroom for as long as possible. On a full strip-out, moving out is usually quicker and cheaper.

Do private estates in Esher affect how a build is run?

Some do. Estates can set rules on working hours, contractor parking and deliveries. We find out what applies before work starts and build it into the programme.

Can you work with our own builder?

Yes, and we have done so before. In most cases we prefer to work with trades we have used before, because we can vouch for the quality of their work — but if you already have a builder you trust, we're happy to work with them.

How often do you visit site during a project?

Depending on the project, we visit site at least three times a week, using our expertise to check both the accuracy of the work against the construction drawings and the quality of the workmanship, keeping you informed with regular updates throughout.
