Renovation project management in Kingston

Project management in Kingston means you don't have to run the build yourself. We appoint trusted contractors, agree the scope, programme and price, visit site regularly and deal with builders and suppliers on your behalf. We look after procurement, keep the budget in view and stay with the job through snagging, handover and styling. Our full Hackney renovation, with rewiring, new heating, a new roof and a loft conversion, shows how much can be coordinated in one project. We can manage our own design or drawings you already have. Before work starts we agree the scope, programme and price, with a contingency for the unexpected. During the build you get regular updates from site and decisions are brought to you in good time, so nothing stalls waiting for a choice.

Homes in Kingston

Terraced streets in Kingston mean tight access, party walls on both sides and neighbours close by. Parking permits, skip licences and deliveries need arranging in advance. In flats, building management rules, working hours and lift access come into play. We plan all of this before work starts, so the build runs smoothly. Older terraces can also hide tired wiring, plumbing and roofs, which are best tackled while the house is already opened up. Work in flats also needs protection for shared hallways and stairs.

Local knowledge

Planning and local notes

Kingston upon Thames is a London borough with 26 conservation areas, including Fairfield/Knight's Park, Kingston Hill, Kingston Old Town, Park Road and Riverside North and South. In those areas, roof alterations, windows and front extensions are more closely controlled, and some rights to extend without planning may be removed. Outside them, many rear extensions and lofts may fall under permitted development. We check the position for your street before drawing.

FAQs

Questions we're asked

Can you manage a renovation in a flat with a managing agent?

Yes. We deal with the managing agent or freeholder on working hours, access, protection of common parts and any consents needed.

Do you handle party wall notices?

We flag where they are needed early and coordinate with the party wall surveyor, so the notices don't hold up the start date.

Can you work with our own builder?

Yes, and we have done so before. In most cases we prefer to work with trades we have used before, because we can vouch for the quality of their work — but if you already have a builder you trust, we're happy to work with them.

How often do you visit site during a project?

Depending on the project, we visit site at least three times a week, using our expertise to check both the accuracy of the work against the construction drawings and the quality of the workmanship, keeping you informed with regular updates throughout.
